Abstract/Description: This collection consists of the records of the Marseille Consistoire, mainly from the years 1819-1906, including budgets and reports from many Marseille Jewish charities, benevolent societies, and organizations, including Temple Israélite. Also include are lists of eligible voters for consistorial elections from the various communities, 1855-1904 (after 1849, all males over 25 were eligible to vote in consistorial elections); correspondence from the Jewish communities of Avignon, Carpentras, and Nice, 1852-1893; and budgets of the various Jewish communities in the Marseille consistory, 1820-1906. In addition there are two volumes listing marriages, 1833-1878, one volume listing births, 1850-1865 (Marseille?), and one census from Marseille, 1847.
