Abstract/Description: The American Jewish History Center was established in 1953 and aims, through the writing and publishing of histories of Jewish communities in America, to stress the spiritual contributions of Judaism to America and of America to Judaism. The records include minutes of Collegium, 1958–1960; newsletter of the Center, 1961; miscellaneous pamphlets, reports, and other material on American Jewish history, 1948–1967; and manuscript compilation of "American Jewish History Source Material." Specific types of records include: annual reports, birth register, certificates of membership, clippings, conference proceedings, constitution, correspondence, draft histories, financial records, history, newsletter, ledgers, manuscripts, minutes, notes, pamphlets, photographs, reports, scrapbooks, and a transcript of an interview.
