Abstract/Description: | The Cejwin Camps Records is arranged chronologically and consists of records that document camper, staff, and administrative activities and camp life between 1954 and 1992. Included are the minutes of administration meetings held to evaluate camp activities, and camper and staff evaluations. The collection also contains a wide range of ephemera including play scripts and playbills, camp song lyrics, Shabbat and Tisha B’Av program materials, educational material, and journals produced by the camp. Of special importance are the survey results documenting campers' religious educational backgrounds and observance that were conduced by the camp. The collection also contains ephemera, including Dinner Journals, produced by Cejwin Camps Friends and Alumni association. Correspondence of A.P. Schoolman and correspondence of Cejwin Camps administration from the 1970s are also included in the collection. Of note is a letter from Otto Frank, the father of Anne Frank, to A.P. Schoolman. The Cejwin Camps Photography Collection contains over 1,000 photographs dating from 1923 through the 1980s. These photos, arranged by subject, show campers involved in swimming, boating, playing baseball and basketball, and other camp activities. |
