Moses Leo Gitelson was born in Svenziany, Russia on December 12, 1896, and came to the United States around 1900. He graduated from the Teachers Institute of the Jewish Theological Seminary in 1915. He established a foundation to provide microfilms of rare books and manuscripts to key libraries including Library of Congress, Hebrew University, and British Museum. Gitelson was a former chairman of the New York Board of Trade and overseer at the Jewish Theological Seminary. English. |
