Mordecai Rubin (1927-1993) was born in Boston, Massachusetts. In June 1952, he received his Masters of Arts Degree in Guidance from Teachers’ College at Columbia University in the field of Educational Psychology. In June 1953, he was ordained at the Jewish Theological Seminary and earned the degree of Master of Hebrew Literature. In 1951, while still a student at the Jewish Theological Seminary, Rabbi Rubin became the spiritual leader of the Wantagh Jewish Center (WJC) in Wantagh, New York and continued to serve the congregation for forty two years.
