Note accompanying items: “In 1773 the community of Urbino was in great financial straits, the creditors insisting on immediate payment of capital and interest and threating to take away the synagogue. Representatives of the communities of Ancona, Sinigaglia and Pesaro thereupon gathered in Ancona and decided to issue an appeal to their co-religionists appointing three treasurers in Ancona, Venice and Leghorn. The three printed signatories are Moses Samuel of Ancona, Solomo del Vecchio of Pesaro and Isaac Salmone of Sinigaglia.”
