The significance of American institutions connecting their rabbinic ordination to work done in the land of Israel. There was no such edict in Europe. Diaspora Jewry. Jews coming and residing in the land (as it is written in Ezra and Nehemiah). Israel is the land of Hebrew. Hebrew is the language of the bible and the language of Jews. Learning Hebrew in Jerusalem is the utmost thing to do to honor our heritage.|
