Abstract/Description: | A program produced by ABC in association with JTS, "Ethics in Five Acts." A discussion of the moral and ethical imperatives of Rabbi Gendler and Reverend Peirson- their motivation to go down to the South to demonstrate against segragation, which led to their arrest and being held for 52 hours. They were part of the Albany Movement, and this particular prayer vigil, which included Martin Luther King, had over 70 religious leaders from the north and midwest. Author Lillian Smith, herself a southerner, joins the discussion. How religion informs ethical imperatives. | |
