Abstract/Description: A popular epic that describes the life of a bedouin woman warrior named Dalhama and the wars of two berber tribes against the Byzantines; originating in oral traditions, Sīrat al-mujāhidīn was probably composed in Syria ca. 1100; Najm Ibn Hisham is credited throughout with the narration; this section mentions the personality ʻAbd al-Wahhāb on the title page, and refers to Malatya, a place in Asia Minor.
