Manuscript documents. Title devised by cataloger Daṿid ben Binyamin informs us that he hails from Khvānsār, and traveled elsewhere in the province of Iṣfahān in the pursuit of his livelihood. He writes that he considers R. Yehudah ben ʻAmram Diṿan, the shadar (emissary for charity and educational institutions in Israel) to whom the lettter was addressed (identified by I Ben-Zvi, op. cit., below), a man of stature who wielded influence in every community he visited who was, therefore, potetially able to facilitate the recovery of David's property. Letter dated the Sabbath of parashat Devarim 5608 [1708] The author penned a halakhic responsum, and taught and lectured; interestingly, the aforementioned manuscripts, which were copied by Daṿid ben Binyamin himself, were of a popular nature, containing charms, lots and remedies, and were also used by him in the pursuit of his livelihood.
